They say lessons can come in unsuspected ways.

Tuesday, Bow Wow revealed that JAY-Z’s 4:44 album taught him the value of good credit, and he wants fans to be aware of the advantages of financial literacy so that it could be passed down to the next generation.

The “Let Me Hold You” rapper posted on his Instagram Story “We gotta start teaching the youth early about credit and how important it is,” he wrote. “It’s cool to have cash, but with good credit … man the world is yours! Nothing like looking at all 3 scores and you a 730 or better!!!! Learn the importance of having good credit! Trust me.”

He added, “Can’t lie JAY-Z 4:44 album got me on my shit and I ain’t never looked back.”

Hov delivered a few financial jewels on his 2017 album. He emphasized the necessity of having high credit and being financially independent.

On “The Story of O.J.,” he rapped, “You wanna know what’s more important than throwin’ away money at a strip club? Credit.”
On Jay-Z’s single “Legacy” he rapped about leaving his own children a legacy of their own. He proposed that his oldest daughter, Blue Ivy, form an institute to “put poor kids in school” and devote a significant portion of her resources to “fund ideas from people who look like us.”
