After two years of romance, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have announced their breakup. On Wednesday night, the two confirmed their split via Instagram with a joint statement.
“Hey guys, we’ve decide to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as human is stronger than ever ❤️” the statement, which they both shared on their Instagram Story, said. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward ❤️❤️❤️ Camila and Shawn”
The duo were friends years before dating in July 2019. Rumors of the singers becoming an item started after the release of their duet Seniorita. Fans started to make these allegations after the two were pretty cozy during the video and behind-the-scenes. However, Mendes and Cabello began to make appearances together throughout the summer which confirmed their relationship.
