J.K. Rowling calls out trans activists for allegedly sharing her address on social media.
This past Monday, “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling called out three transgender activists for uploading photos of her home in the United Kingdom online. The activists’ actions come after Rowling has been accused several times of being transphobic by some members of the LGBTQIA community.
“Last Friday, my family’s address was posted on Twitter by three activist actors,” wrote Rowling on Twitter. The alleged activists that were named included Holly Stars, Richard Energy and Georgia Frost. The three were accused of taking “pictures of themselves in front of our house, carefully positioning themselves to ensure that [her] address was visible.”
“I have to assume that @ IAmGeorgiaFrost, @ hollywstars and @ Richard_Energy_ thought doxxing me would intimidate me out of speaking up for women’s sex-based rights,” said Rowling of the three who were standing in front of her Edinburgh home. The New York Post reports that the three have now all removed their Twitter accounts.
Holly Stars, trans rights activist, advocate and star of Amazon Prime doc “Holly Stars: Inspirational,” responded to the incident detailing her actions.
“Yesterday we posted a picture we took at JK Rowling’s house,” Stars said. “While we stand by the photo, since posting it we have received an overwhelming amount of serious and threatening transphobic messages so have decided to take the photo down. #transrightsarehumanrights. Love to our trans siblings.”
