Chicago Mother of Six Shot and Killed in Same Area Her 14-Year-Old Son Was Shot Three Days Before

In Chicago, a mother of six was shot and killed in the same area where her 14-year-old son was killed just three days before.

On Wednesday, Delisa Tucker, 31, was fatally shot in the chest while visiting a monument for her son, Kevin Tinker, at their home in the city’s Roseland area.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Tucker had been lighting candles for her slain son after he was killed in a shooting Sunday evening.

No one has been detained, and police have not established whether the two shootings are linked.

After responding to a ShotSpotter alert just before 12.30 a.m. Wednesday, police said they discovered Tucker’s body lying on the sidewalk.

Tucker was taken to Roseland Hospital and pronounced dead.

Authorities said they haven’t identified anyone who witnessed the incident on the street.

Three days prior, her son had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kevin was standing outside a home that had been targeted earlier in the day when he was shot.

Police haven’t said whether they believe Kevin was a target.

According to a GoFundMe page, the teen’s family described him as a “quiet boy” who wasn’t involved in any gang-related activity.

This year alone, there have been at least 26 deadly shootings in the neighborhood where the mother and boy were killed.
