Kanye West is righting his wrongs when it comes to his family for the holidays. In his Thanksgiving prayer released Thursday, the rapper opened up about wanting his family back and his mental health.
Ye, who Kanye now goes under the name of, is no stranger when it comes to apologies. But this time is different as he fesses up to his “misactions” in his Thanksgiving Sunday Service. He stood in front of hundreds addressing his ongoing divorce with estranged wife, Kim Kardashian. He then talked about mending his family problems.
The “Donda” rapper said this throughout his prayer. “All I think about everyday is how I get my family back together and how I heal the pain that I’ve caused,” he said. “I take accountability for my actions — new word alert — misactions. The one thing all my successes and failures have in common is me.”
Two of Ye’s issues he opened up about was his alcoholism and anger issues.
He is known for his outburst on Twitter then doubling back on them, but he has recently kept a low-key profile following Kim’s file for divorce. Besides helping Kim with her SNL debut, Kanye has mended fences with both Jay Z and Drake on his apology and acceptance tour.
In his prayer, he touched on his countless wrongdoings like his attempted fail at running for president, outing his estranged wife about wanting an abortion, and his havoc on Twitter that has taken a toll on his mental health.
Ye says, “I embarrassed my wife in the way that I presented information about our family during the one and — thank God — only press conference.”
He concludes his prayer, “This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for the family that my wife has given me, I’m thankful for the life that God has given me and I’m thankful for your time, attention and patience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
