Actor Michael B. Jordan is breaking his silence about why he decided to show off his relationship with Lori Harvey to the world.
The “Creed” star spoke with the Hollywood Reporter, stating that while he isn’t sure if he could have handled the public opinions early in his career, his love affair with Lori Harvey was “real enough” to share with the world without a worry.
“Long story short, I think it’s just the timing of everything. It was the right time for me. Yeah. I’m happy,” the 34-year-old added.
His latest revelations echo his earlier comments about the 24-year-old model. Back in April, Jordan told PEOPLE that he is “extremely happy” with his new romance.
Before going public with the stepdaughter of Steve Harvey, Jordan was notoriously quiet about his dating status, opting to keep his relationships out of the media. He was previously linked to multiple women, including social media star Catherine Paiz and actress Kiki Layne, though he never publicly claimed either woman.
There was some controversy surrounding Harvey’s and Jordan’s relationship in its infancy. Many people on social media speculated that the relationship was a publicity stunt. Nevertheless, the couple is going strong, having recently celebrated their one-year anniversary.
