The United States now has its second confirmed case of the omicron variant. It is a man from Minnesota who recently traveled to New York City for a two-day convention.
Minnesota health officials confirmed that the man is vaccinated, traveled to New York City to attend the Anime NYC 2021 convention held at the Javits Center Nov. 19-21. He reportedly developed symptoms shortly after returning home and tested positive on Nov. 22.
In a statement released earlier today, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it is working closely with public health authorities in Minnesota and New York City to investigate this latest confirmed omicron case.
The first confirmed omicron case was discovered in California by U.S. officials yesterday in a vaccinated person who recently returned to San Francisco from South Africa.
