“The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah has critics up in arms after the comedian went on a skeptical rant about coronavirus vaccine maker Moderna.

Noah questioned the intentions of Moderna’s CEO, Stephane Bancel, who expressed his concerns over how well the company’s vaccine will hold up against the Omicron variant.

In an interview earlier this week, Bancel admitted his fears of a “material drop” in COVID-19 vaccine efficacy against newer strains of the disease that continue to pop up.

Noah slammed Bancel, suggesting the pharmaceuticals CEO might not be an “objective source” in making any predictions about the COVID-19 pandemic.

“On the one hand, almost all the Omicron cases have been mild so far,” Noah said in a clip posted on social media. “But on the other hand, the guy who stands to gain millions of dollars from new vaccines says we need new vaccines, huh?”

The 37-year-old comedian mocked Bancel, suggesting the French Billionaire is looking at the profit potential over epidemiological concerns.

“If we don’t make a new vaccine, this disease could be with us Ferrari … I mean ‘forever.’ Sorry, I was thinking of something else,” Noah said.

Some viewers didn’t like Noah’s point of view and took their criticism of his cynicism to Twitter.

“This seems to be spreading an anti-vax point of view,” one person tweeted.
