More details have emerged about the ongoing divorce between Stevie J and Faith Evans. The record producer is asking the court to award him spousal support while blocking Evans from being awarded financial support from him.
The records obtained by The Blast show Stevie J as the petitioner and Evans as the respondent. The petition does not specify if the couple has a prenuptial agreement in place and that the court may need to divide some of their assets.
“The true nature and extent of the community/quasi-community assets and debts are unknown at this time,” the filing reads. He acknowledges that the petition may need to be amended once their assets are figured out.Â
Stevie J filed for divorce from his estranged wife in November, citing irreconcilable differences. His divorce petition claims they have been separated since October 19, 2021.
Since filing for divorce, the two were seen spending time together on a California beach. Evans shared a video of her and Stevie J doing cartwheels. Then a video was released showing Stevie J accusing Evans of cheating and “talking crazy” to her.Â
That video was followed by an apology post, with Stevie J apologizing for how he was seen talking to his wife in the video. He clarified that Evans was not unfaithful.Â
“I’d like to make this video for my wife,” he said. “A video was released last week that showed talking crazy to my wife.”
It’s not clear if the two are back together at this point, but neither of them has filed to end the divorce proceeding.
