Nick Cannon Talk SHow

Nick Cannon is thanking everyone for the outpouring of love and support following his announcement that his 5-month-old son Zen tragically passed away.

On his daytime talk show Wednesday, Cannon said that he feels guilty “and never wanted to exploit” Zen’s diagnosis. He went on to say that the amount of love he’s received from all over the globe is unexpected, but that he is appreciative.

“The onslaught of love and care is brand new to me, so thank you is all I can say,” the television host said. “‘Cause we gonna get through it.”

On Tuesday, the actor revealed that Zen, whom he shares with model Alyssa Scott, had died from a brain tumor Sunday. The baby boy’s diagnosis had not previously been made public.

The 41-year-old said they took Zen to the doctor when he was two months old after noticing he had an enlarged head and to have a breathing issue checked out. Instead of the routine appointment they were expecting, they learned he had a malignant tumor. Though Cannon and Scott remained hopeful, Zen’s health took a turn for the worse around Thanksgiving.

Cannon was able to spend time with Zen over the weekend. He was able to bring him to the Ocean, where he held him for the last time.

Zen is the youngest of Cannon’s seven children. He is also father to twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Abby De La Rosa, and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell. The two also share a 4-year-old son, Golden. Additionally, he shares 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
