OOP! LaVar Ball compared Michael Jordan to expired milk after being asked whether his NBA player son, LaMelo, seeks advice from MJ.
LaMelo Ball is a rising star for the Charlotte Hornets which is owned by Michael Jordan. In a clip shared by Hoopsview, LaMelo’s father LaVar, says the rising star never seeks advice from the NBA legend.
“How often does he seek out advice from Michael Jordan? Never! What advice he gonna give him? You tell me what advice he gonna give him. … When the last time he won a championship? And the game has changed. What’s he gonna tell him?”
Now it would make sense for Jordan to be a mentor to LaMelo since he is the owner of the team and an NBA legend. However, LaVar doesn’t feel that way and compares Jordan to expired milk.
“Do you ever have milk in your refrigerator?” When the damn thing expires, I hope you throw it away. When was the last time [Jordan] won a championship?”
LaVar feels that the Hornets’ success hasn’t been the best due to Jordan being out of the game for so long.
“The Charlotte Hornets been around a long time before my son got there. Give advice to some of them other guys so you can win! Don’t wait to tell my boy.”
Michael Jordan selected LaMelo as the number 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. Jordan, who is a 14-time all-star & 6-time Finals MVP, became the owner of the team in 2010. Jordan retired from playing in the NBA in 2003.
