The on-going battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is heating up. A friend of the actress, who witnessed the original 911 call, has chosen to speak out on the alleged abuse.
Writer and TV host, iO Tillet Wright took to Twitter to criticize TMZ for their story regarding Heard’s reported injuries. “Bullsh*t. I’ve had enough,” She wrote. “I saw the bruises. Many times. And the fat lip. And the cut head.” She continued.
“How much evidence does a woman need to present?!” Wright added. “She has photos, texts, witnesses, and filed a restraining order… This culture of victim blaming makes me sick. I’m a witness. I’m here. I’m standing up. I can’t take any more of this witch hunt.”
According to ET Online, Heard claims that on May 21, she and her estranged husband, Depp, got into a heated argument that turned violent. Depp threw a phone at Heard’s face causing a bruise near her eye.
“I was on the f**king phone when he hit her,” Wright tweeted on Monday. “I HEARD HER SCREAM. I will testify. Here and in court. Under oath. WHAT ELSE DOES A WOMAN NEED?”
According to court documents, the request for a temporary restraining order, which was granted on May 27, was a result of Wright calling 911 at the request of Heard who claimed she was having a “peaceful conversation” with Depp about the passing of his mother. Allegedly, Depp “began obsessing about something that was untrue and his demeanor changed dramatically.” Then, they called Wright.
The LAPD later revealed to sources that when they responded to the third party call of a domestic dispute, they found no evidence of a crime. Apparently, heard claimed it was only a verbal dispute at the time.
Depp’s divorce attorney claims Heard is “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”
In the midst all of the drama between Depp and Heard, it’s been reported that Heard was arrested in 2009 for domestic violence against her then girlfriend, Tasya van Ree. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the couple got into an argument at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which led to Heard hitting van Ree in the arm. Heard was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence. However, Heard’s lawyer has yet to comment.
Heard and Depp are headed back to court on June 17, by that time, the restraining order against Depp will expire.
