The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is looking to accept Apple Wallet IDs starting next year.

Back in June, Apple revealed that its company has plans to let users in participating states store their IDs in Apple’s Wallet app. According to 9To5mac, TSA will be accepting digital ID copies for when people need to travel by plane. During WWDC, Apple Pay VP Jennifer Bailey said the TSA was “working to enable” implement airport security checkpoints as “the first place you can use your digital ID,” the news outlet states.

An initial plan will first take place in two state airports in February 2022. Two more locations are expected to have the ability in March. A flyer who uses Apple Wallet will simply tap their iPhone on an NFC reader or use a QR scanner.

There are no details just yet on what state will be the first to try out the new option. However, Apple says Connecticut, Georgia, Arizona, Iowa, Kentucky, Utah, Maryland and Oklahoma are lined up for the pilot program.
