Lil Mama is happy Jay-Z has broken his silence regarding her crashing his 2009 VMA performance.
Days ago, Hov shared that he forgave the “Lip Gloss” rapper for storming the stage as he and Alicia Keys performed “Empire State of Mind.”
“She’s a New Yorker. She got excited. Things happen. Of course, we love her. Yes, she’s forgiven. It’s all Love, and she was coming from a place of Love. It’s just… may have been a little too excited,” the Roc-a-Fella mogul stated while in a Twitter Spaces room with Keys.
On Wednesday, Lil Mama shared a clip of the conversation to her Instagram, writing, “I appreciate hearing this portion of last night’s conversation.”
“This has always been my stance, Love. Love for both my big brother, big sister, and my city.”
The 32-year-old previously revealed that she’d reached out to both Keys and Jay to apologize but never heard back. For years, the general consensus among fans was that Lil Mama’s career had suffered irreversible damage due to the highly publicized transfer.
“It brings clarity to all of us as a community to actually hear these words from our legendary leaders,” the rapper and actor added.
