The queen of Twitter, Dionne Warwick, isn’t having it with Oreos right now.
The 81-year-old went on Twitter to voice her opinion once again. This time it’s to get the attention of the makers of Oreo. She feels that the extensive array of recent flavor variations is wholly unnecessary and gauche, the New York Post reported.
The sassy spat began in the fall after the “I’ll Never Love This Way Again” singer made a tweet requesting companies reach out to her onTwitter.
“Please reply to this twote if are a brand account. Even the mayonnaise companies,” she tweeted on October 20.
While brands including Nutter Butter and Starbucks went on to have positive interactions with her — “Thank you for the lattes” and “Love you back!” in which she respectfully responded to the corporations — it was Oreo that didn’t get the same.
“Hello, What is your weirdest flavor? Why are y’all doing the most? The one flavor was fine,” Warwick questioned of the vegan cookie brand.
Oreo sent Warwick a care package, but it was of its less well-known merchandise, a move the pop star feels was a bit aggressive.
“After asking @Oreo to stick to the original flavor, they sent me these outrageous items as a response,” she told her 588,000 followers Wednesday and included a photo of Oreo-flavored lip balm and a package of java chip flavor creme Oreo cookies.
“I will be retaliating at a later date,” she added.
Warwick has made a name for herself beyond music in recent years for her delightfully blunt persona on social media, the New York Post reported.
Last December, she went viral after she tweeted at Chance the Rapper, “If you are very obviously a rapper why did you put it in your stage name?” (“I will be whatever you wanna call me Ms Warwick,” Chance responded).
Then in November, during the Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift situation, she tweeted, “If that young man has Taylor’s scarf he should return it,” adding, “It does not belong to you. Box it up and I will pay the cost of postage, Jake.”
Her tweets have become so legendary, they’ve become the focal point of an art show: “Dionne Warwick: Queen of Twitter,” which had a smash run during the Newark Arts Festival this fall. The show included paintings, installations, collages, videos, and sculptures that were inspired by some of the Grammy winner’s most notable tweets.
