Police arrested a high school track coach from Washington, D.C., after he was accused of having “sexual contact with at least one student.”
On Tuesday, Takoma Park, Maryland resident Giovanni Di Angelo Reumante was arrested by the Montgomery Police Department after an investigation into the 31-year-old’s alleged sexual misconduct with a former student. Police received an arrest warrant for Reumante on Dec. 23. The probe was put together by the Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Victims Division.
“The investigation revealed that Reumante allegedly engaged in sexual contact with at least one student during and after school hours, said police.
Police arrested Reumante the man after he arrived from the Dominican Republic at Dulles International Airport in Virginia.
The investigation came after a student, who is now an adult woman, came forward saying a “former track coach and school security assistant” sexually assaulted her when she was a student at Northwood High School.
NBC News reports that Reumante has been placed on administrative leave and “is not allowed in our school or on our grounds.”
