Three more police officers have filed suit against former President Donald Trump for the “physical and emotional injuries” they suffered due to the riots they say he incited at the United States Capitol building on January 6, 2021.
Capitol Officer Marcus Moore, who is a 10 year veteran of the force, filed a lawsuit in which he described “the intense terror of the day as he moved from his post at the Madison Building to the East Side of the Capitol and eventually into the House chamber, helping evacuate lawmakers to safety.”
In the suit, Moore is seeking damages, claiming Trump incited his crazed supporters to riot in an effort to seize the Capitol, which left him suffering from tinnitus, a condition that produces frequent ringing in a person’s ear.
According to Politico, the other two cops, Bobby Tabron and Dedevine Carter, who work for D.C. Metropolitan Police, are also “seeking compensatory damages for their injuries,” caused from “suffering physical assaults with poles, pepper spray, and other projectiles, in addition to hand-to-hand violence .”
Since the infamous riots which occurred a year ago tomorrow, Trump has sought to downplay the violence that his supporters inflicted upon officers at the Capitol. He even went so far as to falsely claim that the MAGA rioters were out there “hugging and kissing” police who were guarding the building when in reality, many were assaulting cops with blunt objects and attacking them with bear spray.
