Cynthia Consignments in Lincoln Park, Chicago, was robbed of $50,000 after being featured on a local news profile, WGN.
The consignment store has been open for nearly 30 years and sells high-end clothing and accessories. The store was on WGN special features and 24 hours later was robbed by a 10-man mob. They stole dozens of handbags and accessories estimating a $50,000 loss for the store.
The 10-man mob escaped with 20 handbags. According to CWB Chicago, “A source said the thieves, black males who wore black hoodies, gloves, and surgical masks, previously tried to hit a store at Northbrook Mall, but the shop’s canine security officers scared them away.”
It seems the business spotlight may have received the wrong attention. Some people already believed the local spotlight could have brought on negative consequences. Some commented under a now-deleted Youtube video that showed off the store.
One said, “Better get security now…They’re on the way.”
The owner introduced the store in the video listing off multiple luxurious brands like Chanel, Gucci, and Hermes.
Another person commented, “Now they’ve guaranteed they’ll get looted.”
The police are investigating the crime currently.
Come on now…these are disadvantaged Chicago youths who are trying their hardest to lead productive lives. Don’t you see how these upstanding citizens from great homes are advancing in society? These are our future leaders. I feel good about that don’t you?
Just admit it…We as Black folks are a lost race. Every other race on earth hates Black people and we hate ourselves. As a race… we are our own worst enemy. We are still hung up on “Light-Skinned & Dark Skinned issues after 400 plus years. Racist White people are loving our ignorance. In my opinion… We have NO CHANCE for Black unification.
