A Florida man was recorded trying to strangle a woman at a bus stop with his shoelace.
Whether it’s early in the day or late at night, women just never seem to be able to live their lives safely. On Jan. 2, at around 11 a.m., a 26-year-old woman was waiting at a Miami-Dade Transit Bus Stop when a man decided to try to choke her out with his shoelace.
In a video posted on Instagram by an account named Only in Dade, the man is seen tying his shoe and then stopping for a moment. The man begins to check his surroundings, seemingly to make sure no one is around before he attempts the horrendous act. He then pulls his shoelace from his shoe and creeps up behind the woman. Suddenly, he wraps the shoelace around her and begins to strangle her.
The woman wrestles with the man, fighting back, and when the woman appears to become too much to handle, the man breaks away and starts punching her. During the incident, the man would look up and check to see who was around him. Eventually, another pedestrian comes to the woman’s rescue. The man first raises his hands, seemingly in an effort to reason with the man and get him to stop hurting her. However, the man continues punching the woman. The other man then grabs the strangler from the back and attempts to pull him off the woman. The video ends, but the man ran away on foot according to the New York Post.
After catching the man in the area, police took him into custody. The man has been identified as 27-year-old Aaron K Quinones, and police have charged him with an attempted felony murder charge. Cops are also looking for the rescuer who allegedly left when police arrived at the scene.
