Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel believes people can expect another booster.
In Goldman Sachs-organized healthcare conference Thursday, Bancel announced the possibility of another booster for fall 2022.
“I still believe we’re going to need boosters in the fall of ’22 and forward,” he said. The booster the drugmaker is working on will help with Omicron, which is why they believe it won’t be ready in the next two months.
NBC News reports a fourth dose will boost antibodies a week after the shot is given.
It also is unknown if the booster will help prevent individuals from getting “flurona” which is a simultaneous infection of COVID-19 and the flu.
