Aaron Rodgers is shutting down reports that he plans to boycott the Super Bowl due to the COVID-19 regulations.

The rumors of the alleged boycott began on Friday’s episode of Boomer and Gio radio show. NFL analyst and former quarterback Boomer Esiason revealed that he’d been told by “multiple people in Aaron’s direct circle” that Rodgers would not play in the Super Bowl if the Green Bay Packers made it this year. Instead, the team’s quarterback would demand that the league reconsider some of its strict COVID-19 rules. Specifically, the regulation that states asymptomatic players still has to be tested.

Following the show, Rodgers retweeted a video of the conversation on Twitter with the comment, “#dumbestfuckingstoryever #fakenews #boycottfakenews #boycottbums.”

“he’s told @jordan3love to be ready” 😂😂😂#directcircle#dumbestfuckingstoryever #fakenews #boycottfakenews #boycottbums #boycottshoes #boycottwaterfalls#boycottAJsmokingcigars #boycottLafleursBrows#boycottGutchies https://t.co/rhuyV2mnIN

The alleged protest news comes just days after Rodgers insinuated he might not be voted MVP this year for his views on coronavirus vaccines. Over the summer, he said he was “immunized” when asked if he was vaccinated. The 38-year-old has not received the shot and has petitioned the league to look into homeopathic alternatives.
