Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Announces She’s Caught COVID-19; Critics Call Her Out Over Being Maskless At Miami Event

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reportedly caught COVID-19 while out and about in Miami.

They say it’s not if we get COVID-19; it’s when we get COVID-19. Last week, a video emerged online of Ocasio-Cortez, lovingly known as AOC, enjoying herself at an event in Miami, Florida. The representative was seen without a mask mingling with other guests at the function in the video.

By Sunday, the 32-year-old shared that she’d caught Rona and wasn’t doing well with her followers and fans. According to TMZ, she never explained exactly when she caught the Coronavirus. However, the rep said she was at home in recovery.

In the meantime, her office explained that AOC received both vaccine shots and a booster that she got this past fall.

While everyone deserves to have a little fun, some are questioning AOC’s acts, mainly since she’s been vocal about people abiding by COVID-19 safety measures. Some also pointed out that she traveled to Florida, a state run by Ron DeSantis, who AOC has been critical of. But, AOC isn’t the first politician, and she won’t be the last politician to catch COVID-19.
