Out with the old and in with the new. Black Monday is officially here, which means pink slips for many that have disappointed this NFL season.

The biggest shock is the firing of Miami’s Brian Flores. The coach won three seasons back-to-back and, according to ESPN, is a top candidate for many teams following his removal. The general manager, Chris Grier, is expected to stay.

Flores was the most surprising casualty on Black Monday. The Dolphins owner, Stephen Ross, announced, “I made a decision today to part ways with Brian Flores. After evaluating where we are as an organization and what we need going forward to improve, I determined that key dynamics of our football organization weren’t functioning at a level I want it to be and felt that this decision was in the best interest of the Miami Dolphins. I believe we have a talented young roster in place and have the opportunity to be much better in 2022.”

Next up for firings was Minnesota’s head coach Mike Zimmer and executive vice president and general manager Rick Spielman. Not a surprising decision as the Minnesota Vikings missed the playoffs for the second year in a row. The Vikings finished 8-9 this season.

Chicago also decided to part ways with their head coach and general manager, Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace. The Bears finished 6-11 season and the coach stumbled to make the team a winning team. In 2018, Nagy made Coach of the Year.

Finally, the New York Giants want a new general manager. Though they are retaining head coach Joe Judge, as of now, Dave Gettleman is out. The Giants went 4-13 this season and performed one of the worst seen in Giant history.
