According to an incident report released Monday by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, actor and comedian Bob Saget, who died Sunday at the age of 65, was discovered in bed in his Orlando hotel room after his family stated they had not heard from him.
On Monday, an autopsy was performed but the cause of death has yet to be determined.
Police found Saget lying on his back in bed after they arrived at his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes on Sunday at 4 p.m and he was pronounced dead at 4:18 p.m.
The incident report noted that “His left arm was across his chest while his right arm was resting on the bed. No signs of trauma were seen.”
According to the medical examiner, there was no early evidence of foul play or drug usage.
However, additional examinations and investigations could take up to 10-12 weeks to identify the cause and manner of his death.
According to the sheriff’s office, Saget’s items were neatly arranged on his nightstand and television stand and in the closet and bathroom.
After his family reported they hadn’t heard from him, a member of the hotel’s security staff went to Saget’s room. Saget was scheduled to check out of his room that day. The security officer told the sheriff’s office that the lights were turned off when he arrived to the room, where he found Saget in bed and “cold to the touch,” so he dialed 911.
During the investigation, hotel management notified Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, of his passing.
Prior to his death, Saget had performed the night before in Ponte Vedra Beach and had documented his experience on social media early the next morning.
“I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight,” he tweeted. “I’m happily addicted again to this s***.”
It was just the beginning of an upcoming standup comedy tour. The next show was slated for January 28 in West Palm Beach.
