Michael B. Jordan is spending his time in Atlanta filming his upcoming movie Creed III. The movie will have his creative input since this is the first time he is directing the film, and it will have some personal input from top Hollywood actor Denzel Washington.Â
Jordan opens up about Washington’s help in Creed III. Since the Rocky series spinoff movie overlapped with A Journal for Jordan, Jordan admitted that Washington gave him secret pointers on directing the film.Â
A Journal for Jordan premiered in December; Washington was the director and mentor for the Black Panther actor to nail the performance.Â
The Oscar-winning actor talked to Jordan about the significance of the storyboarding process before shooting the script. He set Jordan up with a storyboard artist he had worked with on a previous film.Â
Jordan tells AP Entertainment, “He literally called up a friend of his who’s a storyboard artist — and dialed him up right there, pitched him [and] me in the project and put me on the phone.”Â
Though Jordan has starred in the series Creed, the third installment is the first one he has directed and produced. The film will premiere on November 23, 2022. In addition, a noticeable absent actor in the film is Sylvester Stallone, who starred in the original Rocky series.Â
Jordan continues, “I talked to him, and that’s how I got one of my storyboard artists. Right there on the spot at rehearsal.”
He says, “That’s D, man. He’s willing to do anything to help. He wants to pass on knowledge and make art a little easier in however he can help.”
Jordan previously told The Hollywood Reporter about his passion for always wanting to direct a film.Â
