On Thursday, federal prosecutors revealed that a Florida woman admitted to hiring a hitman to kill her ex-boyfriend’s spouse on the Dark Web.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, DeAnna Marie Stinson, 50, reportedly paid more than $12,000 to an anonymous website in a Bitcoin-for-blood scheme.

Stinson allegedly supplied the victim’s name, address, and photograph, along with the following frightening statement, in an online “order” placed in late June: “Do not do at home. Any place else is fine. Need completed during July – preferably, between July 5th – 11th.”

According to the order placed, she was looking for a “quick hit in southern Florida.”

Court documents state that she placed five “orders” altogether, including a “Bonus if completed by July 31st.”

When July 31 rolled around, she contacted site administrators again, requesting that they “reassign the job to someone who has a history of getting jobs done.”

According to the US Attorneys’ office,  she wanted the job “done ASAP.”

Investigators said that an undercover agent posing as a hitman contacted Stinson over WhatsApp after paying the site in Bitcoin.

Prosecutors say she “confirmed it was the same person she wanted to have killed” after the agent sent her a fake surveillance photo of her chosen victim.

This website, however, did not provide any actual services.

Court documents show that an undercover investigator recorded the phone conversation; Stinson reiterated her intentions and agreed to send another $350 in Bitcoin, which she believed would cover the cost of the revolver used for the assassination.

Shortly after, the FBI executed a search warrant at her Tampa residence and confiscated three computers and an iPhone.

According to authorities, they discovered her Coinbase account on the phone, which showed Bitcoin transactions involving the website and the WhatsApp discussion with the undercover agent, as well as other evidence.

Stinson may face up to ten years in federal prison if convicted. Her sentencing date has yet to be determined.
