If you were hoping to attend the Fugees reunion tour, we have some bad news for you– it has been canceled.

The group’s upcoming tour was meant to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1996 album The Score.

On Friday, the legendary group announced on their Instagram account that the tour is no longer happening.

“We anticipate and understand disappointment but our anniversary tour will not be able to happen,” Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel wrote in a statement. “The continued Covid pandemic has made touring conditions difficult, and we want to make sure we keep our fans and ourselves healthy and safe. An idea sparked to honor and celebrate this 25th anniversary of The Score but we see now it may not currently be our time for revisiting this past work. We’re grateful for the special night we did get to share with some of you in New York, with that rare live moment. If opportunity, public safety, and scheduling allow, we hope to be able to revisit this again sometime soon. Thank you for all of your love and support throughout the years.”

The tour would have been the Fugees’ first in 25 years.

News of the tour broke back in September and shortly after, the Fugees performed a concert at Pier 17 in New York.

The 12-city tour was originally scheduled to begin on Nov. 2, 2021, at the United Center in Chicago, before moving on to Oakland, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami, Newark, and Washington, D.C.

Its international leg was to begin in Paris the first week of December and end in Ghana in mid-December.

Unfortunately, the tour was postponed just three days before it was slated to begin. The group then promised to add more shows.

Fans have gone on the Fugees‘ Instagram to leave comments expressing their disappointment with the cancellation.

One person commented that they were “sooooo upset” because the concert was their “dream concert.”
