One thing about 50 Cent, he will consistently execute a well-produced series. The G-Unit rapper is now creating an unscripted series investigating some infamous Hip-Hop crimes.

Former TMZ personality Van Lathan will be hosting the “Hip Hop Homicide” series. The show will take a deeper look and try to uncover some of the unsolved cold cases in the hip-hop community.

The G-Unit rapper will be teaming up with ‘Love & Hip Hop’ creator Mona Scott-Young and Lionsgate to bring the series to life. Mona’s production company, Monami Production, will take over the physical production. At the same time, Lionsgate will handle the international distribution rights.

“50 and I created this show in response to the disturbing number of murders in Hip-hop. With this boots-on-the-ground investigative series. We will look to closely examine and explore leads surrounding these cases. With the hope of finally providing loved ones with answers,” Mona says.

Above all, 50 explains his reasoning behind creating the series.

“G-Unit Film and Television has thrived by telling real stories as I continue to grow my current slate. Premium non-scripted programming will be a major focus. Hip Hop loves things that are damaged. This series will shed light on the artists that didn’t make it through the struggle.”

Nevertheless, the 8 part series is set to be available for watching later this year. The show will air on AMC Networks’ WEtv and streaming service, ALLBLK.
