A person of interest was arrested Saturday in the case of a missing Eastpointe, Michigan teenager.
Jaylin Brazier, 21, was officially taken into custody on a felony arrest warrant. Fox2 reports that he is the cousin of 17-year-old Zion Foster, who has been missing since January 4.
He allegedly picked the teen up at her home to hang out, something the two frequently did. Foster never returned after texting her mom that she was on her way home.
Foster’s mother, Ciera Milton, told the outlet that Brazier denied seeing the teen, saying they hadn’t hung out in years, despite being seen picking her up. Milton said she could track her daughter’s phone to the Greenfield and Seven Mile area.
Foster has not been seen or heard from since.
Detroit police are now handling the investigation, which is considered ongoing. Foster is described as 5’1” tall and weighing 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing her Detroit Wing Company uniform. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Jaylin Brazier is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
