Elton John Tests Positive for Covid-19, Cancels Shows

Fans of Elton John will have to wait a little longer for the music legend’s next performance.

The 74-year-old singer tested positive for COVID-19 and had to cancel two concerts in Dallas this week.

As part of his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour, he was scheduled to perform at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“It is with great regret that the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour dates in Dallas set for Tuesday, January 25 and Wednesday, January 26 must be postponed due to Elton recently testing positive for COVID-19,” the center’s website read.

The statement continued, “Fortunately, Elton is fully vaccinated and boosted and is experiencing only mild symptoms. Fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be honored at the rescheduled dates to be announced soon. Elton and the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour look forward to returning to the stage shortly.”

Currently, there are no details on when the dates will be rescheduled. His next tour stops include Little Rock, Arkansas, and Oklahoma City on Saturday and Sunday.

The singer announced the news to his followers on his Instagram Story, stating that his symptoms are not severe. “Shifting concerts is always a huge disappointment, and I apologize to everyone who has been inconvenienced by this, but I need to keep myself and my staff safe,” he wrote.

The tour was delayed almost two years due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It began in September 2018 and lasted until March 2020.
