Donald Trump teased that he may be running for President in 2024 and added that if he is successful, he would weigh pardoning those charged in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

“If I run, and if I win, we will treat those people from Jan. 6 fairly,” Trump stated at a rally in Conroe, Texas, on Saturday.

“And if it requires pardons, we will give them pardons,” Trump continued. “Because they are being treated so unfairly.”

On Jan. 6, a mob of Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election amid a joint session of Congress, the New York Post reported.

The House Select Committee, chaired by Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), is looking into the chaos that occurred that day and any involvement by Trump, who was the President at the time, members of his administration, or supporters.

The Department of Justice has since charged more than 700 people in the riot.

“These prosecutors are vicious, horrible people. They’re racists and they’re very sick — they’re mentally sick,” Trump said. “They’re going after me without any protection of my rights from the Supreme Court or most other courts. In reality, they’re not after me, they’re after you.”
