A parent in Katy, Texas, called for a children’s book about former first lady Michelle Obama to be pulled from school libraries because they felt the biography was unfair to former President Donald Trump.
The parent had an issue with a book entitled “Michelle Obama: Political Icon” by Heather E. Schwartz, claiming it “unfairly” depicted Trump “as a bully.”
The book was on a list of 50 books that parents in Texas have asked schools officials to remove, as books depicting race, sexuality, and gender have begun to face serious scrutiny from conservatives.
According to NBC News, the unidentified parent said the book about our former First Lady gave the impression that “if you sound like a white girl, you should be ashamed of yourself.”
