Jason Van Dyke, the white Chicago cop convicted for fatally shooting a Black teenager in 2014 has been released from prison early.
Van Dyke was released early this morning after spending three years and four months behind bars for fatally shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald in October 2014.
The former cop was sentenced to nearly seven years in 2019 after being convicted on second-degree murder and aggravated battery charges the year before.
