It looks like Georgia law enforcement has one request this Valentine’s Day, and it’s to turn in your exes.
Rockmart Police Department posted an odd yet very familiar request on their Facebook page.
The message read, “Do you have an ex-Valentine and know they have outstanding warrants? Do you have information that they are driving with drugs in their car? Give us a call with their location, and we’ll take care of the rest.”Apparently, the police department got the idea from North Carolina’s Nash County Sheriff’s Office in 2021.
The message then describes the “Valentine’s Day Month-Long Special” for future prisoners as a minimum stay in five-star accommodations, limited-edition platinum bracelets, free transportation with a chauffeur, and professional glamour shots that will be available online.
Rockmart Police Department says, “We copied this from a Sheriff in eastern NC. Seems like an excellent program to us!” the Rockmart PD continued. “(Laugh all you want, but someone reading this is about to call us and give someone up!).”
Other police departments thought the idea was clever and took a page out of the same book. Some departments include Lake Arthur in Louisana, Somerset in Massachusetts, and Fort Walton in Florida.
