Donald Trump is coming to the defense of Joe Rogan as the podcaster is receiving widespread criticism for his views and racist language.

On Monday, the former commander-in-chief issued a statement calling the former UFC commentator an “interesting and popular guy” but pleaded with him to stand on what he says.

“He’s got to stop apologizing to the Fake News and Radical Left maniacs and lunatics,” Trump wrote in his statement before adding, “How many ways can you say you’re sorry?”

Trump’s support echoes Spotify’s, which defended their highest-earning personality on their platform. CEO Daniel Ek apologized for Rogan’s racial comments and COVID-19 misinformation but maintained that “silencing Joe is the answer.” Spotify has pledged $100 million to “historically marginalized groups” in the United States to make up for Rogan’s antics.

Rogan pulled 70 of his episodes from the platform that included racially insensitive language after singer India Arie shared multiple clips of him saying the N-word on his show. However, many continue to call for Spotify to completely end The Joe Rogan Experience. Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, and Trump’s own niece, Mary Trump, have pulled their content from the platform in protest.

The former president also encouraged Rogan not to allow anyone to make him look “weak and frightened.”
