Bill Maher has his opinion of the word karma, saying he feels America has become a hateful and spiteful country that celebrates what he calls a misinformed view of karma.
The ‘Real Time’ host gave his opinion on the concept surrounding karma, calling it bulls***, to begin with, and that there is no such thing. Adding that the lore of karma was actually a positive, zen-type thing, that many have made into a thing of revenge.
TMZ reported that Maher received texts from his friends after Whoopi Goldberg was suspended from the daytime talk show “The View” for her controversial comments regarding the holocaust.
Apparently, his friends said Goldberg got the “karma” she deserved and that they were happy about it all. But Maher slammed them even though Goldberg had previously called him out on his views of COVID and other subjects.
But he says that’s what freedom of speech is all about. However, he did say she’s wrong on COVID and was also wrong when she talked about race, but he says that’s what we call disagreements.
He feels she has a right to speak and that the cure for misinformed speech is more speech. And, adding a little bit of humor to the situation, he claims Whoopi has a rock-solid defense, “F*** it, it’s 11 AM!”
As Maher puts it, “The View” suspending Whoopi for two weeks over her views is like firing Pat Sajak for selling a vowel.
