Here at Baller Alert it’s not all about snagging a Baller, but also finding ways to be Ballerific yourself. It seems that there are a lot more women in power positions these days. With the growing number of women in business, I figured it would only  be right to offer a little guidance and support to women who are thinking about starting their own business or becoming an executive themselves.

Understand That Because You’re a Woman, You’ll Have To Work 10x Harder. Accept It.
As a woman in nearly any industry, you’ll have to understand the fact that the business world is full of double standards. No matter how hard you work, be ready to work even harder. Once you have come to accept this fact the trials will seem less crucial and easier to overcome. Nearly every industry you’re interested will be ran by men so be prepared for the competition.Â
Keep The Ho S*** To A Minimum.
Men will test your intentions from the beginning. They’ll try to sleep with you and attempt to break you under pressure. Don’t let either of these happen. The minute you open your legs to a man, any chance you had of working with him have gone down the drain. Granted, you have the right to be sexually attracted to whoever you please, just use discretion when sleeping with someone in the workplace. You’ll never be taken seriously. Your image is everything, don’t get caught up in BS and negative labels.Â
Embrace Other Business Women.
It’s a small club so we’ve got to stick together. Men on the outside expect us to be catty towards one another so we have to prove them wrong. Do you wonder why the Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim beef receives so much attention? Because it’s expected of us to act that way. Join together and embrace one another. Strength in numbers.
 Â
Stop Being So Emotional.
Men in the business world already expect women to be emotional and cry when they don’t get their way. Don’t give men the satisfaction of seeing you sweat. A Boss doesn’t cry and neither should you. Realize that this is a tough game and that there will be ups and downs. Don’t give up. Rip that heart off your sleeve, tuck it away and handle your business!
Â
Dare To Be Different.
You’re already different from most, you have a vagina. Don’t be afraid to be a little creative. Some may not understand and may even be against it at first but your ability to think outside of the box will prove to be an asset soon enough. Don’t be afraid to voice ideas, even if they get shot down every now and again.
Â
Build Strong, Long Lasting Relationships.
As a woman, I’ve noticed that this is one thing that is easier for us than most men. Men in the industry tend to feel comfortable with talking to women, therefore they free themselves to building business relationships with them. Take advantage of this. Make a lasting impression on every one you meet and follow up with them. Remember, its not always about what you know, but who you know! You never know who you’ll need someday.
Â
Be Organized. Be Consistent. Be Ready.
Because you’re a woman, you’re the enemy. Women want to be you and men want you to fall from grace. It’s a dog eat dog world but that doesn’t mean you have to become anyone’s lunch. Cross your T’s and Dot your I’s! Be organized, be consistent and always be ready for whatever is thrown at you. You’d be surprised how quickly you can earn your respect.Â
Never Settle.
It’s very easy for us to become complacent with where we are. Remember, there are foot prints on the moon. If a man can do it, you can do it too…and probably faster because you don’t have the weight of a d*** holding you down. Don’t be happy as a VP when you can be a President and if it hasn’t been done yet, you can always be the first.
