If you recall, we’ve previously reported that Queen Elizabeth was being monitored closely after Prince Charles tested positive for COVID-19. Well, the results are in and have been confirmed. Queen Elizabeth has tested positive for the virus.

According to Buckingham Palace, the queen has been experiencing mild cold-like symptoms. However, Queen Elizabeth will continue to handle light duties during the upcoming week.

“She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all appropriate guidelines,” the palace adds.

A while back, UK media reported that the queen was fully vaccinated. Buckingham Palace later confirmed that the queen and her late husband, Prince Phillips, received the first vaccination. But the palace did deny to share if the two got a second dose.

The news about Queen Elizabeth’s result comes after she finished her first in-person engagement since returning to Windsor. The queen was in Sandringham, where she celebrated her 70th anniversary of being on the throne.

The monarch is expected to attend multiple events coming up next month, starting with a diplomatic reception at Windsor Castle on March 2. Then, the annual Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey on March 14 and a service of thanksgiving service for Prince Philip at the same venue on March 29. However, the queen’s attendance is currently up in the air and will depend on her health and test results.

Queen Elizabeth’s health has become the topic of conversation after she missed plenty of public events last year. Apparently, a doctor advised the queen to rest after being hospitalized for an undisclosed reason.
