The world’s largest cruise ship is now ready to greet passengers after three years of construction.
Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas, which stands at 1,188 feet long, was delivered last month and will sail to the Caribbean on March 4 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, produced the 18-deck cruise ship, accommodating 6,988 passengers and 2,300 crew members.

“We’re excited to introduce guests across the world to Wonder of the Seas and its world-class features after a six-year-long process,” said Mark Tamis, senior vice president of hotel operations at Royal Caribbean International.

“From planning to delivery, we’ve utilized our expertise across Royal Caribbean, as well as incorporating our guest’s suggestions and travel partner feedback to create something truly awe-inspiring.”

In March, the ship will debut five- to seven-night Caribbean trips from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before launching Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona and Rome in May.

Among its onboard features, it has eight neighborhoods, including one with over 20,000 plants, along with the tallest slide at sea, a zip line, as well as a poolside movie screen.

“We’ve always prided ourselves on offering guests the best and most innovative ships to give them a truly extraordinary experience. Wonder encompasses all of that,” adds Tamis.

In addition to several brand new ships set to hit the water in the coming weeks and months, Wonder of the Seas is Royal Caribbean’s fifth and most unique Oasis Class vessel.

The ship was set to arrive in 2021 but was delayed due to the global pandemic.
