To cook food faster, 100 White Castle locations are bringing in robot fry cooks.
It looks like many potential job opportunities might go to robots, as White Castle has announced it will be placing robot fry cooks in 100 standalone locations around the country. Fox Business reports the burger chain will continue working with automation company Miso Robotics to install a “flexible and modular” kitchen system called Flippy 2. The robots will be able to fry, store and distribute food, the news outlet reports.
Our partnership with Miso continues to lead the way on what’s next for back-of-house restaurant operations looking to empower team members with technology to better satisfy customers,” Jeff Carper, chief operating officer of White Castle, said. “Having Flippy 2 be a new hire at 100 of our White Castle locations keeps us on a path to achieve big goals at White Castle.”
The two companies’ partnership started back in July 2020.
The company says it plans to use the robots to improve customer satisfaction and work progression, among other “pain points.”
