Jay-Z is $4.5 million richer now that he’s won his six-year legal battle with the perfume company Parlux.
The New York rapper was sued by the company in 2016 over his now-defunct fragrance. They claimed he failed to do his duty surrounding the promotional bargain after the two teamed up to launch his cologne, Gold Jay-Z.
They also alleged that the whole deal was a disaster because Jigga refused to do both media and public appearances to help sales when the fragrance dropped in 2013, TMZ reported.
The company’s lawsuit was seeking $18 million but the tables turned on it and now they owe Jay-Z.
On Thursday, an appellate court ruled in Jay’s favor, saying he is entitled to the $4.5 mil in royalties for the sale of past colognes.
