Former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison was found not guilty on all counts of felony wanton endangerment in the 2020 botched raid that left Breonna Taylor dead.
Hankison was accused of endangering a couple and their 5-year-old son the night Louisville PD raided Taylor’s apartment. He was the only officer charged in connection to the shooting, but none of the charges were for her death.
On day six of the trial, a Jefferson County jury acquitted Hankerson of all three charges.
Throughout the trial, Hankison maintained his innocence claiming he saw a “muzzle flash” after police broke through Taylor’s front door and believed the flash came from inside the apartment.
Had Hankison been convicted, he faced up to five years in prison for each charge.
