A man who was stealing food in a Bay Area Walgreens got into a food fight with a customer trying to stop him.
The incident took place in the Richmond District of San Francisco, TMZ reports. Video footage shows several people in a group streaming loads of merchandise from the back of the store. One thief makes his way behind the store counter while a Walgreens associate details the incident to a 911 operator over the phone. When a customer tried to record the thief, the thief slapped the phone out of his hand.
That same customer then tried to intervene. When the customer walked up to the thief, the alleged criminal could be heard asking the customer, “You want to go?” That’s when the thief grabs some bananas and hurls them at the customer. The customer then picks up some bananas and throws them back at the thief as he’s walking out. The thief turns back around, grabs snacks from a rack, and throws them at the customer.
This incident comes along with a slew of others that have happened across the nation at Walgreens locations. According to TMZ, the retail store doesn’t get involved with shoplifters as it is against their policy. Security guards have also been instructed not to get involved.
