Tristan Thompson allegedly told his newest baby mama Maralee Nichols that he and Khloé Kardashian were engaged and relocating overseas.
This new detail came to light in a recent court filing made by Nichols in her ongoing paternity case against Thompson, who was proven to be the father of her infant son, Theo. According to Snapchat messages between the two, the Chicago Bulls player told the fitness model that he was gearing up to marry Kardashian and protested that he would not be in their son’s life.
“I’m engaged, but I will be married soon. I told you I won’t and can’t be in the child life at all by no means,” Thompson wrote in one message from April 2021. He went on to add, “Why would you want a baby with a man that’s engaged. You wanna keep a mistake.”
When the message exchange took place, Thompson was still in a relationship with Kardashian, with whom he shares a 3-year-old daughter. In June 2021, the couple officially called it quits after Nichols’ pregnancy was made public. Prior to the breakup, the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star was spotted rocking a large diamond ring multiple times, though the couple never confirmed an engagement. Court filings confirmed that Thompson paid $2 million for a ring for his now-ex, though it remains unclear if it was the same one she was spotted wearing.
In another message from May 2021, Thompson told Nichols that he and Kardashian were going public with their plans to wed and relocate for good to either “Europe or Caribbean.”
Nichols sued Thompson for child support before she gave birth to their son. She has maintained that he has not offered any support to their child and has not yet met him.
