For weeks, we’ve seen Jason Lee working closely with Kanye West. Now, the rap and sneaker mogul has named the media maven his Head of Media and Partnerships.
The Hollywood Unlocked founder will oversee and introduce content to help Ye expand his media endeavors. In addition, Lee will use his expertise as a highly qualified personality and content curator to operate and manage the division and orchestrate various partnerships.
Lee has already proven himself to be the right man for the position by helping Ye unveil his “Donda 2” album exclusively on his Stem Player. Since the monumental release in February, Ye has grossed over $3 million. In January, Lee also interviewed the Yeezy founder, who opened up about his growing empire and separation from Kim Kardashian.
“Thank you @kanyewest for trusting me. Having a shared vision for controlling your narrative, understanding and being able to navigate the media landscape, and being culture leaders is what this is about,” Lee wrote in an Instagram post.
In one of his first assignments in his new role, Lee has enlisted DKC, an independent PR agency, to help launch forthcoming projects.
