Suspect Identified In Stabbing Of Two Museum Of Modern Art Employees

The Museum of Modern History remained closed Sunday after two employees were stabbed by a former member of the museum on Saturday afternoon.

The NYPD identified the suspect as 60-year-old Gary Cabana. Cabana was at the museum to see a film but was denied access because of previous disturbances. His membership had been revoked the day before the attack. 

Cabana was upset over being denied entry and jumped over the reception desk, where he stabbed two 24-year-old employees. The man and woman were taken to Bellevue Hospital and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries to the back, neck, and collarbone.

Video footage showed Cabana leaving the museum, and police knew what direction he went. However, the suspect remains at large as of Sunday morning.

The museum announced that it would remain closed to the public on Sunday.
