According to reports, two young brothers and their mother were arrested by LaGrange police after they allegedly entered a tennis store and shot two “splatter guns” loaded with gel projectiles.
”Splatter guns” are plastic guns loaded with Orbeez Gel projectiles, which are tiny beads packed with water, police said.
On March 7, the two boys entered the Tennis Pro Shop on Hunnicutt Place and shot one of the store’s employees a dozen times in the face and neck and laughed while doing it. Afterward, they went into the store’s parking lot and shot a woman in the back.
On March 12, police arrested and charged the two brothers with reckless conduct and simple battery. Their mother was also charged with parental responsibility to supervise.
The two young boys’ identities have not been revealed.
Police said, “The LaGrange Police Department would like to make it known that these kinds of reckless behaviors from anyone intentionally trying to cause harm with these plastic guns will not be tolerated.”
Parents and guardians are asked to talk to their children about the dangers of the trend and to take water bead guns away if found.
