Mike Mora, the husband of singer-musician Kelis has passed away following a battle with stomach cancer.
According to TMZ, Mora, 37, died this week just six months after being diagnosed with stomach cancer. Mora announced he had stage 4 cancer back in September in a post, saying, “I thought the whole time that I just had an ulcer. With no idea what was about to come my way.”
In his post, he told his followers that he’d been dealing with the cancer symptoms for a year, adding that doctors only gave him about 18 months to live. He was diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma.
“I never thought this could happen to me. At just 36, with 3 kiddos, and a wife that loves me. I want to be able to help those that might experience something, maybe, hopefully. By showing that it’s possible to make it through,” Mora said in another post.
Kelis and Mora were married for 8 years after they wed in 2014. The couple shares two children, Shepard and Galilee.
