Burger King Employee Having A “Bad Day” Shoots At Customer Who Threw Mayo Packets At Her

A Miami Burger King employee was arrested after shooting at a customer following a heated argument.

The incident unfolded on Thursday at the Burger King in the 4700 block of Northwest 167th Street. Authorities say 30-year-old Shateasha Hicks exchanged words with a man in the drive-thru. It was initially reported that the customer threw mayonnaise packets at Hicks before driving off and parking briefly in the restaurant parking lot. Hicks then ran outside and retrieved a gun from her car. She fired five rounds at the vehicle as the driver drove away from the premises.

Hicks followed the man in her car before later abandoning it. Police eventually tracked her down, and she was jailed on one charge of discharging a firearm while in public. She posted $1,000 bail on Friday and was released from Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Speaking to the media following her release, Hicks maintained that she “mistreated” and “lied upon.” Hick’s aunt says her niece was simply defending herself.

Tierra Crittenden, Hicks manager at the Burger King location, says she came to work upset and had a “bad day.” Burger King has since fired Hicks and says they are “horrified” following the shooting.

“This unacceptable behavior does not align with our brand values of safety and security,” the company said in a statement.

It is unknown who the shooting victim is and whether or not he was injured in the shooting.
