Kanye West won’t be performing at this year’s Grammys ceremony after producers decided to yank him from the show due to his recent online antics.
According to TMZ, Ye’s reps confirmed that the rapper wouldn’t be hitting the stage in a few weeks, claiming the reason cited was his “concerning online behavior,” which the Recording Academy felt might translate to a fiasco in a live show setting.
Ye’s involvement with the Grammys show wasn’t even made public before this announcement, but now comes word that the offer for him to perform has been rescinded.
The Game exposed the drama in a lengthy IG post, slamming the Grammys officials for their decision to uninvite Ye, calling it censorship.
“Time & time again, they show us that they only want to STEAL the culture, not allow you to ever be their equals. In a more than obvious move for reasons of minuscule actions,” The Game wrote.
Insiders claim Grammy producers were wary of what might happen with Ye performing during the show hosted by Trevor Noah after Kanye called Noah a “k**n,” earlier this week in an IG post that led to the social media platform suspending his account.
